Summer means crowds on the trails but we have other ways to enjoy our time outdoors.
Once the warm weather hits the whole Badass Outdoor family goes into paddle mode. Our boards and canoes stay strapped to our roofs all summer long.
You'll see us out fishing, standing fireside on the beach, or hanging out in a hammock reading a good book with a cold beverage. Regardless of where we are, we take full advantage of the long days and warm nights on the water.
We're obsessed with our SUPs - especially with the NRS Baron 6. It's stable, glides easily and we can pack enough for an overnight and jump on it without a second thought. The icing on the cake is that it folds up into it's own pack making it easy to travel with and store at home.
If you have any questions about the whole line of NRS inflatable SUPs or if you want to jump on one, give the shop a call we rent and give lessons locally!
Favorite Swimming Hole
Everyone's got their favorite summer hang out, and this is our secret spot. We spend lots of hot afternoons under the shady trees in our hammocks catching up with friends or just curled up with a book.
And, no, we can't tell you where it is, so don't even ask. Happy Dog Days!!
You can probably guess by now that we're hammock people.
They're the perfect, drop in your pack and go, accessory year round. But in summer, our love grows exponentially for our ENO hammocks.
They set up in minutes, dry quickly, and allow for maximum relaxation. As you can see...we're experts in relaxation, so you should probably take our word for it.
Shake it Off
Took the pup out for some much needed time in the water. It was a scorcher and we were both glad for some the relief!
Late Fall Backpacking!
Ahh, late Fall! The leaves are hanging on by a thread and the brisk weather has caused the crowds to dissipate.
This is our favorite season to hike in the Whites. Cold mornings allow for that extra appreciation of a warm cup of coffee, and even cooler evenings mean whiskey to warm the belly and solid sleep to fuel up for the next days walk. Being alone in the woods at this time of the year really allows for a deep appreciation of the vastness of the wilderness that surrounds us and we use these adventures to reconnect with nature and remind ourselves what lays beyond our doors.
A successful first day in the back country is most certainly something to celebrate and here the crew raise a glass (or Vargo Titanium Flask/Jetboil) to the days adventure getting into the Pemi Wilderness!
Last day - and it shows
No one wants the adventure to be over and here's some of the crew enjoying the last of our adventure in the wild. A much needed power nap on the Galehead Hut porch.
